Manager on Thursday
Thursday, 7th Jul 201107/07/11: JM on Kevin Rutkiewicz "He's fine, we had him scanned and there is no break so we are pleased with that. It's just a bad dunt he has taken on his wrist.
Jim McIntyre's squad will fly off to Austria on Sunday and the gaffer is looking forward to two testing games there against Czech and Romanian opposition:-"Yes they are very good games - we wanted a tough test and we have certainly got it with top teams that we will be playing,"
Dunfermline will play Mlada Boleslav on Tuesday 12th July at Bischofshofen, kick off 4.00pm local time and then face Rapid Bucharest two days later at Puch, kick off 7.30pm local time. Acknowledging that it is good to get the squad away together, he claimed as well as playing the games that's what these trips are for.
"They are also eating together, living together and getting to know each other a wee bit better for the ones that have just arrived. It's a cracking training facility and a great place to go and do your work. The pitches are first class, scenery everything about the place, where it is. Its got everything you really want to do your work. I think Everton are there just now and they have taken over the whole place, they have taken their youth teams as well as the first team and reserves."

The Manager said he wasn't getting over excited yet about the SPL yet.:-
"The build up to the St Mirren game will be different but right now it's just about getting pre-season done and getting the players as fit as possible and injury free."
On Tuesday night at Glebe Park there was an injury scare for Kevin Rutkiewicz. The centre back injured his right wrist in the first minute but played on with it strapped up. Thankfully Jim could reveal that there was no damage done and there were no other injury concerns:-
"He's fine, we had him scanned and there is no break so we are pleased with that. It's just a bad dunt he has taken on his wrist. Everyone is fine. Steven Bell will not go to Austria because he has a long way to go and he is not yet running yet."
The Manager confirmed news about the right back position:-
"We have signed Jason Thomson on loan from Hearts till the January window. We are really pleased with that. He is a good young player, who has played about 40 games for Hearts first team over the last two or three years, so he knows the Premier League and he is desperate to play. He has been unfortunate that there are good players in front of him and his chances have been limited but I am bringing him here to show what he can do.
"When you are asking a Club for a player on loan then they set the terms of the agreement, so there could be the possibility of extending it if Hearts agree to it but that's not really important.
Jim McIntyre also confirmed that he would not be pursuing the former Celtc U19 player, Stephen O'Donnell who played as a trialist in the game at Livingston and Brechin. Macca also confirmed that there would be no more business done and that those players who didn't get a game on Tuesday would be playing on Saturday in the closed doors game against Airdrie United.
