Liam Buchanan Post Livvy
Saturday, 2nd Jul 2011"Livvy were a decent side, they were young and hungry but we did well in spells. The most important thing was just getting the boys minutes on the pitch.
Although he had to wait until after half time to play his part at Livingston, Liam Buchanan felt it was great to get the first match of the season underway:-
"We have done a lot of hard running over the past week and a half and this is the first game. Livvy were a decent side, they were young and hungry but we did well in spells. The most important thing was just getting the boys minutes on the pitch.
"It is about the new boys used to playing in the sort of system that the gaffer wants and it is a step towards the first game of the season. The boys have adapted well in the 45 minutes together; they have certainly been good in training and in the dressing room so I don't think it is going to be a problem."
Former Partick Thistle team mate Paddy Boyle has now joined him at East End Park and Liam added:-
"It is great to have Paddy here, he will add something to the team and will obviously will be pushing Ozzie all the way for the left back slot,"
Next up for Liam is an away friendly at Brechin City but like the others he is looking forward to the training trip to Austria the following week. For Liam it will be his first continental pre season trip through football:-
"There will be a couple of hard games there but it gets the boys together and it will be a good for that reason too."
