Given the surprisingly competent performance from the side at the bottom of the league, Jim McIntyre still was not happy to settle for a point in the end:-
"I am not happy with a point, I am not happy with the way we played. I thought we were absolutely abysmal in the first half, abysmal. All credit to Airdrie they played very well, we were miles off it in all areas. Just nowhere near good enough. You cannot be so up and down like that and expect to push for a title."
Had the Manager felt the affect of restricted resources?
"We have not got the biggest of squads but the bottom line is the players that we have got to bring in were good enough to play. A few of them have played games already this season but they just did not perform. It is that simple and it is not acceptable.
"I was very disappointed with our strikers in the first half. I don't want to start naming names that is not my style, I could have whipped any one of six off. It wasn't just the strikers, I just felt that we needed a wee lift and we needed to change it.
"Credit, it has worked. Rory (Loy) has pushed upfront and he has scored the goal and got us back in the game. We have had a couple of chances from corners but it just wasn't good enough."
Rory Loy's first goal in senior goal got the Pars back in the match and Macca seems to be impressed with the player borrowed from Rangers.
"We are delighted with him and would love to keep him, hopefully Rangers will allow that. He is a good player and he has done well for us. He is versatile as well. He is due to go back at the end of January but we will have dialogue before that and see where it takes us. I'd love to keep him until the end of the season but that is not in our hands."
Are you looking to bring in more players?
"We are, we are looking to bring in another one and we will see if that comes to fruition. I am two or three weeks away but that's one place that we are well covered now since we brought in Jamie (Mole). We have got Rory, Baynee and Kirkie, so we have got four up there and one of them can play wide as well. That's the reason I brought those two in."
At the end of the day with St Johnstone being held to a 0-0 draw at Firhill is it another missed opportunity today?
"Very much so but we will just need to take care of our own corner and see where it takes us. I am just disappointed."
Airdrie Manager Kenny Black was just as disappointed at having to leave Fife with just one point.
"We merited our point and I was delighted with the overall performance but I am just disappointed that we didn't get the three points. We brought Paul Di Giacomo back into the team last week for the Scottish Cup tie and I do like to play the five in the middle of the park with two wide men and one striker but I thought the strikers scored last week and it is like anything with strikers when they are on that type of form.
"Simon has done well for us before but he was a doubt before the gamethrough injury - and I decided if he was going to be fit that we were going to come here and try and have a go.
"I do not think that draws are any use to us this season. Although it is a reasonable point to go away from Dunfermline I think that some where along the line we have to hit a run of victories that can move us up the table.
"Today we more than merited the point and were probably a bit unfortunate not to get the three points."
