Jim McIntyre Post Morton
Saturday, 26th Jan 2008"Playing the game in their half we started creating chances.
Jim McIntyre was pleased to get the win and somewhat surprised by a questioner who suggested that there had been "a lot of good play in the first half"
"Was there? Not on my side of the pitch! We weren't happy with the way we played, the final ball wasn't good enough but in general we felt we weren't pushing our full backs on enough to create the extra man in the middle of the park. We spoke about that at half time. We came out and we certainly started the better in the second half. That definitely helped - playing the game in their half we started creating chances.
"We told them at half time just exactly how to hurt Morton and we did that in the second half, getting a wee break of the ball here and there that you always need. It was a great finish from Simmy to set us on the way."
The Pars gaffer was sorry that the match against Morton was Danny Murphy's final match for the Fifers:-
"Danny's away and he has done a fantastic job for us. He will go back to Motherwell and we wish him well."
It would seem that others might follow Murphy out of East End Park but Macca could only say:-
"Nothing that I can talk about to be quite honest. There might be one or two leaving, there will be nobody coming in because we have to cut the squad down."
