Former Dumbarton manager, Gerry McCabe, is the latest to join Jim McIntyre's back room staff at East End Park, following the appointment of First Team Coach Stephen Wright earlier this week.
The new assistant manager, left Dumbarton in November and has since been linked with a position at Chester City working alongside Bobby Williamson.
When the offer came for him to work alongside his former Kilmarnock team mate Jim McIntyre, he said he was more than happy to accept.
Speaking on Thursday night, he said he was delighted to accept the assistant manager's job, having had the experience of managing Dumbarton for over a year.
Previously Gerry had been a youth coach at Celtic whilst still playing for Arbroath in 1995. Shortly afterwards he joined Bobby Williamson at Kilmarnock as his assistant manager.
The partnership would last for many years with the two moving to Hibs and then Plymouth Argyle. In 2006, he took up the position of manager at Scottish Third Division side Dumbarton, narrowly missing a promotion play-off place by finishing fifth in the league.
Under his management, Dumbarton faced Celtic at Celtic Park in the third round of the Scottish Cup after knocking out Raith Rovers in a surprise upset. He also took the team to face Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the League Cup.
