BBC's Jim Spence called this a game of two goalkeepers. Paul Gallacher acknowledged that he and Dundee stopper, Craig Samson had good games:-

"It was quite an open game, quite an exciting game and from a neutrals point of view, plenty of chances. We came here to try and get three points, obviously we have not got that so we are disappointed on that front but it is still an unbeaten run now for Macca so you have to take as many positives as you can out of the game."

Asked whether he thought that it was imperative to win the match at Dundee to leave themselves a chance of catching the leaders?

"We have to get the points back as quick as we can to make up ground on the top two. It was not ideal today drawing but as I said we are undefeated, it's a point and we will look to the next game now."

Both teams were clearly relieved to find out that Allan Moore's Stirling Albion had held leaders Hamilton to a goalless draw.

"St Johnstone have won though and it opens the gap on them for us again. We have a bit to go but there are definitely signs of improvement there. Macca has come in a done a fantastic job; he has got the boys working as a unit. We are thoroughly delighted that he got the job and we just have to try and perform every week now, get results and get us up that table.

"We have a lot of confidence but we will take each game as it comes. At Dundee we had our game plan set out, it worked to a certain extent. We didn't win the game but we have also not lost."
