The Board of Dunfermline Athletic Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Jim McIntyre as their new manager. Although the Club had received a large number of quality applicants for the position, they were impressed by Jim's record as caretaker manager of achieving six games undefeated including the last four as wins despite a horrendous injury list.
Dunfermline Athletic Chairman John Yorkston commented "under Jim's stewardship the Club has moved from second bottom place in the First Division to fourth and the Board are extremely optimistic that he has the necessary drive and commitment to guide the Club back to the Scottish Premier League.
"Jim has enjoyed a number of years playing at the highest level and his professionalism has already had an impact on the current squad who have rediscovered their competitiveness and their will to win matches. In addition to being first team manager, he will also continue in his capacity as an important player for the Club".
