Jim McIntyre Post Livingston

Wednesday, 2nd Jan 2008

"All we are trying to do is take it game by game at the minute. The leaders are miles in front so they don't even concern us, it is just about trying to get one result after another.

Jim McIntyre spoke after the Pars fourth successive win and he quickly deflected the questions away from the Manager's position:-

"The Board will sit down to discuss it tomorrow, but I'd rather talk about the game.

"It was excellent. I thought we started really well. We created some great chances, our link up was excellent. We played the way we wanted to play and then they made a change. It took us a wee while to get to grips with that.

"All we are trying to do is take it game by game at the minute. The leaders are miles in front so they don't even concern us, it is just about trying to get one result after another. Luckily we have gone on a wee unbeaten run. We have had our share of fortune in a couple of games but the desire and application has been different class."

Asked if Dunfermline had requested the postponement of their match today as a mark of respect for Phil O'Donnell and because of the Motherwell connection of players in the Dunfermline squad, Jim McIntyre replied:-

"I don't know is the honest answer to that. Personally I thought the whole of Scottish football should have been off today. That's my opinion but the powers at be make the decisions and we just need to comply."

Livingston Manager, Mark Proctor felt disappointed with the result:-

"We had three or four minutes of madness, conceded two goals in that period which ultimately cost us the game. I felt we were the better side, I felt we had more possession, we created opportunities and the lads stuck at it.

"We said about the third goal being important, if we got it we felt that we could have gone on from it. The keeper made one or two really good saves and we didn't quite get that third goal.

"I am disappointed because I genuinely felt we were the better team. For three or four minutes they scored two absolutely critical goals that was the difference. Apart from that and apart from a few set plays I couldn't really see Dunfermline scoring.

"I'd like to see the possession count, I think we had the majority of the ball. You could argue that they just sat back at two nil.

"I thought our lads attitude and application was good and we should have got something out of the game."
