Tuesday, 26th Dec 2006We got ourselves into it, only we can get out of it. We have to take the stick when it is there to be taken. We are eight points adrift and do not have a leg to stand on.

"We did really well in the first half. It is probably the best we have played this season. We created a few chances, we never took them and we got punished in the end.
"That is two wins Motherwell have had (against Dunfermline) where they probably have not been the better team. From our point of view it is really disappointing from two games at home we have only got one point - itis not good enough.
"I don't think they had a shot at goal until they scored but I have been involved in games before where we have never had a shot at goal and we have eventually scored and gone 1-0 up. We should be able to come back from that with the chances we were creating. Even after they scored we created a few chances but it is just not happening.
"We have got to defend well. The move from Motherwell for the first goal was a good move; they cut us apart really - it was a good pass from one of their full backs (Paul Quinn) down to Fitzpatrick who scored. Freddie (Daquin) stretched or slipped whatever but it was disappointing that they scored at a good time for Motherwell. We tried to play after that but it wasn't to be.
"We went into that game with a bit of confidence having had two clean sheets playing Motherwell, a team round about us, thinking we had a chance. Likewise Motherwell probably thought they had a chance as well coming here. That is what it is like when we go to clubs round about; we think we have a chance as well. It is a hard one to take."
While Maurice Malpas spoke gleefully post match at taking the pressure of his team with two defeats, Greg felt that all the pressure was piling on the Pars:-
"Definitely. That is eight points now with St Mirren winning, it couldn't have gone any worse for us today. Over the past couple of weeks a lot of results have gone against us - Motherwell beating Kilmarnock. You never know, we are always saying if we can get the first win under the new Manager who knows what can happen. It needs us to take a lead in a game and going on to win it.
"We need to get back into the (winning) habit. We know that and have to remain together as a team; it is easy to point fingers and blame people and say that you are not to blame. At the end of the day the eleven that play or even the twenty five or thirty first team players that are out there. Everybody is in it together and it is only us that can get ourselves out of that. We got ourselves into it, only we can get out of it.
"We have to take the stick when it is there to be taken. We are eight points adrift and do not have a leg to stand on.
"There is a long way to go yet. There is a big difference since the Manager has come in. We played really well in the first half today and it is only half way. You look for a bit of luck but we have not really had that recently. There are 17 games left, 51 points with a lot of those games against teams that are round about us but it is bit of a sore one today."
