Darren Young Post Falkirk

Saturday, 4th Nov 2006

"We are not bottom of the league for nothing, we have not had enough wins and not good enough to get ourselves up the league.

"After doing so well last week it's back down to earth with a bump. In 35 seconds we have chucked it away with a poor goal, the other two goals could have been cleared as well. I think the third goal summed it up, we were on the attack and pushing on trying to get back into the game. We had a few half chances then it fell to Greg (Ross) who smashed a great shot off the bar and they have gone up the park and scored within 10 seconds.

"We spoke about keeping it tight for the first 10 to 15 minutes but then in the first 10 to 15 seconds they have scored. Obviously whoever comes in has a bit of a job to do and good luck to him.

"Falkirk are doing well, they pass the ball about well but we stuck to our task and got in about them. It just wasn't to be, the goalie had a few good saves but the boy Stokes is probably the difference because he ended up getting a hat-trick. A wee bit power and pace and he took his chances when they fell to him.

"They took the lead, then most of their chances came on the counter attack in the first half as we were pushing up and trying to get a few crosses in.

Darren Young v Falkirk

"We are not bottom of the league for nothing, we have not had enough wins and not good enough to get ourselves up the league. Whoever comes in will have to stamp his authority on the team, he will know himself who he wants to keep and who he wants to let go, what formation he wants to play and what tactics he wants to use. Good luck to whoever it may be.

"We have Rangers away at Ibrox next week, its a boost" joked Darren. "They are playing better in Europe than in the league and we have to go there and just be confident, take it a game at a time.

"We were confident after last week's result going into this game, but losing a goal so early our head's might have gone down, but I don't think they did. We fought to the end although obviously a few of the fans thought otherwise throwing their scarves onto the pitch, which is not nice to see. It is up to them if they want to react like that.

"We gave our all, whether it is good enough or not we shall see. Jim (Leishman) is upstairs now, it has not really anything to do with him now. Robbo is trying to keep things ticking over until whoever they decide to get. It is going to be a pretty big decision for them. We are in a precarious situation just now and hopefully money will not be any object for them. It will cost a lot more if we go down than it will to sign a new manager, so hopefully they will pull out the stops and get the best man for the job.

"The quicker they get him in and gets things settled down and his own ways and his own methods of working the better.
