Craig Robertson Post Hearts
Saturday, 28th Oct 2006"I have just told them that whoever comes in, that is the standard that they need every week - not just some weeks, every week."
Caretaker Manager Craig Robertson spoke to the media after his side's 1-1 draw at Tynecastle:-
"I am not pleased with a point because we came here to win, we didn't win."
Craig was immediately asked if Hearts turmoil had been an assistance to his team and his preparation:-
"I am not here to talk about Hearts, all I want to talk about is Dunfermline. I asked the boys to give a performance of passion, work rate and football and they did that. I cannot complain about their performance; we played some good stuff."
Asked about the controversy surrounding Dunfermline's equaliser after which Hearts international goalkeeper Craig Gordon was yellow carded, Craig merely said:-
"I thought it was a great goal! I was very disappointed to lose the goal but the guys showed great spirit to come back from it. It would have been easy for them to fold after all that has happened this week. We have been preaching that you have to keep going and I thought that they responded really well and Hammy is saying that his (disallowed) goal was not offside.
"We wouldn't have nicked it if Mark Burchill had scored. I think you are wrong there. Alright Hearts had a lot of pressure but when we were attacking we had pressure too. We deserved more out of the game than we got. To come here after the week we have had, it is all credit to the players. They take an enormous amount of credit for this.
"I have just told them that whoever comes in, that is the standard that they need every week - not just some weeks, every week."
What happens to Craig Robertson next?
"I have been assured by Mr Masterton and by the Director of Football that I have a future at the club. All I am doing is take the team today, which I have done and who knows what happens."
