Andy Tod's Testimonial Forum
Sunday, 22nd Oct 2006Dick Campbell and Bert Paton returned to East End to toast Toddy
Bert Paton signed Andy Tod from Kelty Hearts in November 1993. Two of Toddys Managers Dick Campbell and Bert Paton returned on Sunday to reminisce about their days at East End Park with the big man. They entertained the audience in the Kingdom Suite with their favourite stories involving Andy Tod.
Bert said that the only problem that he ever had with Andy Tod was trying to understand his accent!
"Everybody always asks me who my best signing was and I always say that it is a toss up between Toddy and Sammy the Tammy!"
Ian Westwater joined the panel for the afternoon in the Kingdom Suite.
Westie commented:-
"He might not have been the most gifted player in the world but he certainly was the most dedicated. He really worked his backside off and still enjoys his football. Andy is at the stage now where he appreciates every season that he has as a football player. He has two or three good seasons left in him and that is testament to the hard work he puts into the game."
