We wanted to continue the form we had with wins at home against Kilmarnock and St Mirren. It was unlucky but maybe we got what we deserved

"I thought I had saved the game but in the end it was no use. It was a great save but there was a deflection in the last minute. It is a pity; it was spinning and you were hoping that you could reach it but you can't. You hope that it might bounce on the post; it was unlucky but maybe we got what we deserved.

Caley Thistle players celebrate their 91st minute winner

"We wanted to continue the form we had with wins at home against Kilmarnock and St Mirren. We felt that we could continue today but it was a terrible goal in the last minute. We might have got away with 0-0 to take another point so that we could have seven points from three games. It would have been a nice effort.

"They did not create many chances but neither did we so 0-0 would probably have been a good score but they won 1-0."

There is now a break in the SPL programme for international fixtures before Dunfermline travel to Motherwell on 14th October. The players will be in on Monday but will have Thursday and Friday off.  Dorus is uncertain about his plans during the break but is hoping some of his family might come over from Holland:-

"The coming week is just a case of taking it easy, lay back a little from football and just re-charge the batteries. We have to pick up in two weeks; it is an important game."

Is the break a help to forget the memory of the trip to the Highlands?

"Maybe you never know, it can go either way. we had two great games against Kilmarnock - three points, against St Mirren - three points, and we had a good game away to Celtic. Today is a pity. We have to be positive that we have enough quality in the team. we have a lot of experience in the team and a lot of young talent to compete for top places. That is what we have to build on."
