Jim Hamilton has joined Dunfermline three years after having a two month spell at East End Park as an amateur.
Starting his career at Keith he joined Dundee before moving to Hearts in December 1996. Aberdeen, Dundee United, Ross County, Livingston and Motherwell have been added since then but the 30 year old striker found some form at Fir Park scoring 12 times in 55 appearances.
His Motherwell career will always be remembered for his volley against Celtic on 22nd January this year. Some of these in the Pars colours would be just fine.
Chairman John Yorkston confirmed that the Aberdeen born player has been signed on a two year deal:-
"He is a proven goalscorer in our own league and he normally gets into double figures for goals . This season, we do have a number of good forwards, but it's just a question of getting them all fit.
"We will have a lot of attacking options soon, but Jim is a proven player and scorer and we are happy to get him. I am delighted to have him here because it has dragged on a bit, but we have every confidence in him."
Hamilton said of the protracted deal:-
"It's great to finally be here because my rejoining Dunfermline has been a long running saga. It's been on and off for months so it's good the move has finally happened.
"I'm looking forward to enjoying my football and working with a good set of boys and coaching staff.
"When everybody is fit this is one of strongest squads in the league. They've had horrendous injuries here but once we get over that we'll be able to get a good team on the park."
