Manager on Tuesday
Wednesday, 9th Jul 201408/07/14: Speaking exclusively to this website on Tuesday Jim Jefferies gave an update on his approach to the pre season friendlies in the Spartans tournament at the weekend:-
"We will probably play a team for 45 minutes in our first game (against Livingston) and make about ten changes at half time because on the Sunday, win or lose, we have to go back there and we will probably have a younger team and probably one trialist - Steffen Boifot from FC Hundvag is expected to arrive here on Thursday. One or two who have played 45 minutes will also play on the Sunday because we have a game against Hibs coming up on Tuesday. There will be some of the boys who play on Sunday involved in the squad for Tuesday."
The pre season training has been tough and as could be expected several players have a niggle or two. Ryan Wallace is back in training after an operation and he has rested after starting too strongly but he returned to the fold this week.
"He has a chance of making the start of the season now but Josh Falkingham is the one who has come down with tonsillitis. We are waiting for a decision on whether his tonsils need to come out.
"Andy Geggan has picked up a strain as well but at this time that's expected. If he needs an extra day to recover we might give him a run on Sunday. Kerr Young came in today feeling his achilles and so he is doubtful for the weekend."
