New boy hot off the blocks
Wednesday, 2nd Jul 2014Last season's League One top goalscorer, Michael Moffat signed for Dunfermline from Ayr United in the close season. He joined in training on Wednesday and commented:-
"It was quite tough but I have just been raring to go and get my career here underway. Since I signed I have looked forward to meeting all the boys, get the training done and then have the games come thick and fast. It will be double sessions all week but that's expected."
The striker, who scored 68 goals in three and a half seasons at Ayr, has been able to keep himself in good shape for the new season:-
"I have just bought a house and my girlfriend is pregnant, we weren't going away so there has been nothing else to do but to keep myself fit." Michael's two year deal takes him into the world of full time football for the first time and he compared that with his experiences at Ayr United:-
"It was semi full time at Ayr because I trained extra days with the college kids. This is a new experience but a good one and I am enjoying it."
Michael scored 27 goals last season from 39 matches. He made around 150 appearances for Ayr since joining them from Girvan in January 2011.
