Centenary Club 30th year Celebrations
Since October 2013, over 1,000 Pars supporters have now set up a regular £20 per month payment to the Centenary Club Lifeline. This has proven to be the ideal description of the club, as the resultant funding has been an absolute Lifeline for Dunfermline Athletic since coming out of administration.
All the directors at the football club, as well as manager Allan Johnston, are members themselves and have been fully supportive of the fund raising efforts made less than two years. With a regular payment of £18,000 made each month, as well as further “top up” donations when funds are available, the impact on both running the football club and signing new players has been evident to all.
2015 now sees the 30th anniversary of the original Centenary Club, which the Lifeline evolved from. A series of events are planned to mark this occasion throughout the calendar year:
· Player of the Year event: Lifeline is proud to have once again organised and hosted the club’s official Player of the Year event at The Glen Pavilion on Saturday 2nd May.
· 30th Anniversary Brunch; This event will take place on Sunday 4th October at Fife College Conference centre from noon.
· Legends Reunited; A date has to be confirmed for this event in the Kingdom Suite at East End Park, reuniting most of the 1985 team and staff to mark the launch of the Centenary Club
We will also shortly be announcing a series of membership benefits, with a number of local businesses joining Centenary Club Lifeline and offering excellent discounts on a variety of services and products. More details will be announced in due course.
These are, of course, in addition to the prize draws which continue to provide cheques to members drawn out to receive cheques for either £250 or £500 regularly. To mark the 30th anniversary, we will also be holding a one off superdraw which will see one member taking home a cheque for £3,000 later this year!
With the recent retirals of Pete Campbell and Jim Macdonald, long term Chairman and Treasurer respectively, a new committee has been formed which will oversee all fund raising and recruitment efforts for The Lifeline moving forward.
