League Fixtures released

League season 2022-2023 will kick off with a home match against Alloa Athletic.

Fixtures in Scottish League One were announced on Friday 17th June and Dunfermline will kick off their league programme at home to Alloa Athletic on Saturday 30th July.

In the coming season the Pars will play four derbies against new local rivals Kelty Hearts and four against old derby rivals, Falkirk.

A visit to New Central Park on 20th August will be the first of these with the return on the last Saturday in October. Kelty will also host the Christmas Eve match against the Pars with the return on 1st April.

Falkirk and Dunfermline last met in the league during the 2018-2019 season when the away side won every time.

East End Park will welcome Falkirk on 17th September and on Monday 2nd January. The away matches against John McGlynn’s new charges will be on 5th November and 8th April.

Furthest away venue will be Peterhead’s Balmoor Stadium and the Pars first trips there since January 2016 will be on 19th November and 11th March.

The team and their supporters face the journey to Dumfries on the first Saturday in September and last Saturday in February. Queen of the South visit in December and April.

The first away league fixture on 6th August, will also be their first against FC Edinburgh (formerly Edinburgh City). The clubs have only cup history, once in Scottish Cup 1998 and once in League Cup 2019.

Matches against Airdrieonians will also be the first league matches against the Lanarkshire side since 2016 with the Fifers making the trip to the Excelsior on 17th December after having hosted the Diamonds on the last Saturday in August.

League matches against Montrose last happened in 1987. Stewart Petrie will bring his team to Dunfermline for the second home league match and then again in February. Trips to the Angus coast will be on 22nd October and 25th March.

Clyde will return to East End in November on league business for the first time since 2009 and they are the opposition for the final home league match of the 2022-2023 season.

Final match of the campaign is away to Alloa Athletic on 6th May.

Before all that, the Premier Sports Cup group stage will open the competitive season, with Dunfermline away to Stevie Crawford’s East Fife on the first matchday - Saturday 9th July. The first competitive home match of the season will be the Premier Sports Cup game against Buckie Thistle on Tuesday 12th July.

The cinch League One will kick off on 30th July but all fixtures are subject to change.
