Dunfermline boss John Hughes felt that his side dominated the game without creating too many chances:-
“I think Kevin (O’Hara) had one in the second half when we worked their goalkeeper but I cannot remember Jakub having much to do. I think that is much to do with the surface of the pitch.
“I felt that we dominated the game and everything that I asked in terms of keeping a clean sheet, effort and commitment.
“Obviously you are disappointed that you have not won the match but we have not lost it and we are still in there battling away. It is only half time, what we need to do is recover and get the guys ready to go on Saturday.”
How bad was the surface out there?
“Just go and have a look at it. I’m not having a go at anybody in terms of Partick Thistle. I’m one of these guys who is all for everybody. I know what Scottish football is all about in terms of income. Sometimes you are living off the scraps of the table. I get all that in Scottish football but that is a play off game and you should not be playing on that surface. It is as simple as that.
“We are looking for a brand of Scottish football. You are meant to be entertained - go and ask a snooker player to go and play and before you do it put the biscuits down on the snooker table. It is no different for football but it is what it is and we had to get on with it.
“As I say, I’m not have a go at Partick Thistle, more the powers that be. It’s a brand that we are trying to produce here in Scottish football and we should have been playing on a better surface, that’s for sure.
“The game is on for Saturday. I always give the opposition credit and you can see that they were well organised and it is going to be hard. If you think that you can just turn up, it is not like that. If you think in that mindset you will come a cropper.
“That is not the case. Apart from the first ten minutes we showed good desire, good application and I’m quite sure come Saturday, on that better surface, if we show the same desire and application we will create a lot more chances. If we can take them, then we will win the game.
