Morecambe Bay Walk for DADSC
Monday, 2nd May 2022John Simpson raising funds for the Dunfermline Athletic Disabled Supporters` Club
On Sunday 8 May the Secretary of Dunfermline Athletic Disabled Supporters’ Club (John Simpson) will be taking part in a ten-mile walk across the sands of Morecambe Bay, raising money for DADSC’s fund to provide access for supporters with mobility problems to the 1st Floor function suites at East End Park.
The Cross Bay Walk is a regular event for fundraisers but is not completely without its risks - the sands and river courses change position regularly, so the walk is led by the official Queen`s Guide to the Sands.
Unfortunately the weather forecast for Sunday morning is not particularly kind, with temperatures only about 11°C, and the journey across the sands also includes wading across a couple of branches of the River Kent. So John is resigned to getting wet and probably quite cold as well!
Several people have already sponsored John, which is greatly appreciated. DADSC stress that there is no obligation on anyone to do so, as it’s recognised that there are huge pressures on people`s wallets at this time. However, if you want to encourage John by sponsoring him (any amount) then please click on the GoFundMe link below - every little helps, but you should only give what you can afford.
