Dunfermline manager John Hughes thought that his team should have done better. He spoke after the match:-
“I think the first half was close enough but they went in front with a wonder goal. You have to give them credit for that fantastic strike, worthy of winning any football match.
“Once we made the substitutions we had three or four chances to getting right back into it. When you are not taking them, you are chasing the game and you always leave yourself open to the counterattack and it worked out like that.
“Any other day if we had got it back to 1-1 the game would have settled down but we were chasing it. We were always going to chase it, we were always trying to be on the front foot. We had enough chances in the second half to get the ball in the back of the net, it just wasn’t to be.”
You have not lost any ground at the bottom?
“I have never even checked it. We are better than what we showed today. We are trying to set standards at the football club, we knew that it was a real difficult match to win up here, it always is at Inverness.
“Although there wasn’t much between us, I was expecting my team to be better than that.”
