Manager John Hughes Dismissed the suggestion that it was a point gained, he clearly felt that his side warranted three points:-
“I think that we had the best chance of the game in terms of Efe hitting the woodwork. I am disappointed that we never picked up the three points.
“I think it was a game of two halves, they were slightly better than us in the first half but I think we were much improved in the second half. With Efe’s chance and one or two other chances I think we did enough just to nick it.
“I am delighted with the shut out, I think the boys showed character even in the second half when we needed to change our shape a little bit. We needed to get up the park and play more football in our opponent’s half. We changed it a wee bit and I said to do it and implement it off a tactics board, all credit t9 them. It shows you the characters in that dressing room.
“I feel for them. It has happened to us a few times, hitting the woodwork. If it goes in then we were picking up the three points.
“We have only lost one game out of six, so we are going in the right direction. We just need a little Lady Luck to go our way. I am not being blasé because we are fully aware of the circumstances of where we are. I am not one little bit underestimating that.
“It is our job to get the fans going and I think we did that in the second half. You saw the appreciation for the effort and the commitment and the dominance that we had in the second half and they are right behind us. It is going to take everybody together and it will turn and go our way.
“I am a little disappointed that we have not won it. It was a game of two halves but we showed character to hang in there to keep a clean sheet.”
You made a right back out of Matty Todd?
“It was a brave move because the easy one was Leon Jones. Leon was going to come in (in place of the suspended Aaron Comrie) but he picked up covid. It is nothing new, these things are being thrown in front of us all the time.
“It was either Matty Todd or Lewis (Martin) and we thought we needed legs getting up there. Playing more as a winger with the legs, I think Matty Todd did it. He did himself proud, especially in the second half.
“He could have had a wee bit more quality in the final third, getting that cross in or a wee link up but in terms of getting up and down that’s never in question for Toddy.”
