New Contract for Miller Fenton

Miller signs up until 2024

Eighteen year old left back Miller Fenton was signed his second Dunfermline contract.

After leaving Queen Anne High School at Easter 2019 Miller was brought in by Stevie Crawford when he recognised potential while watching Miller playing with Fife Elite. He signed his first contract in November 2019 when he turned sixteen taking the first steps towards his dream of playing for the team he has supported all his life.

Miller stepped up from Fife Elite and one of his first appearances was in a Reserve Cup tie against Celtic marking the Hoops promising young starlet, Karamoko Dembele.

After that debut and joining in training, Stevie Crawford had no hesitation in placing Miller on the first team bench the following on Tuesday night for the Championship fixture against Arbroath. Miller was sent out on loan to East Fife where he made seven appearances between March 2021 and May 2021.

Miller was included in Peter Grant’s squads for the Premier Sports Cup earlier this season and he made his Pars debut in the 5-1 win over Dumbarton on 17th July. Although only being on the bench once since then John Hughes has been very impressed by the young local talent.

John Hughes commented on the signing:-

“Miller`s signed his new contract, we`re delighted. I think he`s got a massive future in front of him. He comes into the category as well with the other young ones - the lifeblood and the future of the club.

“He`s big in stature and he`s got a sweet left foot, and everybody`s looking at that. He can play left centre half, left back, he`s come on leaps and bounds this year just being on the first team training pitch.

“His next step is to get him out on loan and try and get him games. I think there is one or two options. It`s all about Miller - we have to do what`s right for him. The next club that comes in for him, we`ll get him out on loan and get him that game time that he`s desperately needing.”

Starting with Elgin Star, Miller joined Fife Elite at the age of 12. He credits Hamish French and Connor Little among his coaches. After playing at under 16 level, he moved on to under 18 at Fife Elite and was playing two years above his level for a couple of years.

We wish the young player success and look forward to watching Miller progress with Dunfermline Athletic.
