When interviewed Manager John Hughes and all his players tend to term their next matches as massive but they don’t come much more massive than this Saturday’s match in Dumfries. Dunfermline in ninth place take on a Queen of the South side that currently sits just one point below the Pars in the Championship. Three points could have a very important effect on the Championship survival chances for both.

Queen of the South 1-0 Dunfermline
Sat, 2nd Oct 2021
Pars boss Peter Grant said of this match “it was very difficult to watch a team representing me today, never mind the club playing the way we did in the first half especially.”
It had looked as though it might be a goalless encounter but Queen of the South would win the match with a goal just five minutes from the end.
The home side had pushed up forcing a corner on the left as they pinned the Pars back. Todorov blocked a Fitzpatrick shot but the ball was not cleared and Roberto Nditi fired a block that landed back for Lee CONNELLY to crash the ball at an angle from the left into the far side of the Fifers net.
