Dan Pybus signs for Dunfermline
Friday, 2nd Jul 2021Former England U16 and U17 cap brings experience from Sunderland and Bradford City.
Dan Pybus becomes the latest addition to Dunfermline boss, Peter Grant’s squad. The 23 year old Englishman has spent the last two seasons at Queen of the South where he made 52 appearances. He signs a 1 year deal with a further year option.
Described as an attacking midfielder, Dan started his career at Sunderland from the age of nine before going on ten years later to join Stuart McCall’s Bradford City in March 2017 originally on a short-term deal but was then awarded a further year’s contract at the end of the 2016/2017 campaign.
At Sunderland the midfielder had been part of the Black Cats` Under-23s side after an eye-catching campaign for their Under-18s the year the previous season. Playing predominately as a central or attacking midfielder, Pybus netted an impressive 16 goals in 24 games for Sunderland`s youth team in the 2015/2016 campaign.
Pybus has also been capped at Under 16 and Under 17 level for England in teams that contained many now well known names. Dan also has experience of playing in Norway for Tønsberg, which was curtailed through injury.
He played twice against Dunfermline last season and four times the season before. Possibly more importantly he also played five times during that period against Peter Grant’s Alloa.
