Partick Thistle have been League Cup opponents on eight occasions, the Pars have won five, drawn two and lost only one, 3-2 in 1967. It will be 17 years since they last met in the competition, Dunfermline winning that one 3-1 at East End Park.
St Mirren have been frequent opponents in the League Cup, meeting the Pars 14 times. Dunfermline have won eight, drawn one and lost five. The last meeting was in July 2019 when Dunfermline won 3-2 at the Simple Digital Arena in Paisley.
Dunfermline met Dumbarton in last season’s Betfred Cup group and won 1-0 at the C&G Systems Stadium. That was the first meeting since the 5-0 win there in August 2009. The Sons last League Cup visit to East End Park was back in August 1953 and the visitors were convincingly defeated 6-1.
Stenhousemuir last drew Dunfermline in the 1985 League Cup and the Pars won 4-0. They have clashed five times with the 1985 encounter the Fifers only win after two draws and two defeats in the early seventies.
