Stevie Crawford said "I thought that right from the off that is was a really good, positive performance tonight. We were on the front foot and caused them bother. I know it took us until quite late on in the first half but I was delighted for Declan.
“Dowser laid it off to Iain Wilson who put a slide pass through and then Declan went on the finish really well. From that we took a belief into the second half.
“I know that we scored four on the night we could have scored a few more so it is really encouraging. I know it has been a tough period for the supporters as well as the players so it is a really positive result now to take us into the Arbroath game at the weekend.
Hearts 1-0 Dunfermline
Sat, 30th Jan 2021
“Last Saturday was a really good performance against Hearts the only disappointment was that we didn’t take anything from the game. Tonight I didn’t see players sulking, we change up again in personnel and as I say we have come away with another positive performance and a lot of really good play in the final third as well.
“It was great for Declan to get the first goal because if strikers go a few games (without scoring) it can start to play on your mind.”
What about the moment of magic from Fraser Murray?
“I thought it was a fantastic free kick from Fraser Murray, he scored one similar down at Kilmarnock earlier in the season. He has followed that up with another cutting inside on to his right foot that he did to Raith earlier in the season as well. It was great to see Aaron score on his 24th birthday and all in all it was just a good solid performance.”
Asked about the injury to Ryan Dow that saw him stretchered off just ten minutes into the second half, Stevie replied:-
“I thought at the time somebody had probably gone down the back of his calf or his Achilles. There has been no malice, Ryan went down with nobody round about him, I have just seen it on the video. In that regard we will have to monitor him and see where we are tomorrow morning.
“I don’t think it is his knee, it is more down in the calf area. It is early days to know where we are at with him in terms of possibly being fit for the weekend.
“Taking Euan Murray off was just a bit precautionary, he just felt something high up on his right hip. We didn’t want to take the risk so late on in the game. We had the experience of Steven Whittaker to come on and put Lewis Mayo back into centre half at that time.”
