Brian Heydsmith
Saturday, 16th Jan 2021Everyone at DAFC was extremely sad to hear that another of our loyal supporters, Brian Heydsmith, passed away on Saturday. Funeral arrangements added
We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Brian’s family, in particular his wife Margaret, son Jonathan and daughter Colette at this very difficult time.
As well as being a regular in the North West stand for many years (clearly identified by his Aussie style hat), Brian kindly offered his services on a voluntary basis for a number of years as part of our loyal stadium maintenance team. He took great pride in what he did and was regularly awarded the “top sweeper” award by his comrades.
He travelled home and away to watch his beloved Pars and will be sadly missed at East End Park.
Rest in peace Brian!
Funeral arrangements
Friday 22nd January at Dunfermline Crematorium.
The cortege will leave the family home (Townhill Road) at 1.40pm passing Dunfermline Football Club approx 1.45pm (should anyone want to show their respects whilst adhering to current social distancing regulations)
Brian’s request was that everyone should be protected and stay safe knowing that many of us are shielding and no one should feel any obligation to attend his funeral. Therefore only the people in his immediate bubble will be attending the service to respect his wishes.
A Memorial Web Page for anyone who wishes to share their memories of Brian will be released shortly.
