Preview Morton
Tuesday, 12th Jan 2021Scottish Cup Second Round (away) Tuesday January 2021. Due to new SFA Board Guidelines this match has been postponed
There was some disappointment that was possibly shared by the opposition when Dunfermline were paired with a team from their own league. Dunfermline will travel to meet Morton in the second round of this season’s Scottish Cup. With the sides having met just a month ago there will be no mysteries over what to expect.
The Fifers have won just one of the last ten meetings at Cappielow and have failed to win there over the last three seasons. That couple with the Scottish Cup record against Morton demonstrates just how hard it will be to be in the hat for the next round. The sides have met five times in the Scottish Cup and the Pars have won twice and both times that was at East End Park.

For this season only there are no replays in the Scottish Cup which mean games that end in a draw after 90 minutes will go to extra-time and penalties if required.
This cup tie also means that Dunfermline will travel twice to Cappielow in the space of what will be a busy week. The Championship match will be televised on BBC Scotland on Friday 15th January. The planned fixture against Hearts on Tuesday evening at Tynecastle Park will be re-scheduled.
