Tom Fraser
Thursday, 10th Dec 2020Everyone at Dunfermline Athletic was saddened to hear the passing of former Senior Steward Tom Fraser.
The family said: It is with great sadness that we announce that Tom Fraser has passed away aged 88. Tom had been battling vascular dementia since 2013 and passed away suddenly but peacefully, after a brief illness, in the Victoria hospital early on Monday morning (7/12/2020)
Tom was a lifetime Pars fan. He was very proud of the Pars, always ready to declare himself a fan. He was present at many memorable games including, of course, both Scottish Cup wins. He especially enjoyed the great European nights at East End Park.
On most match-days, from the 1990s till around 2010, Tom served as a Senior Steward at East End Park (often at the main entrance alongside Bill Gilby or in the old Rennie hospitality lounge) welcoming visiting managers, officials and guests.
Tom regularly helped fund-raise with the early Pars Lottery and became a Committee member of the original DAFC Centenary Club. (Membership No. 20.) He attended home matches regularly until a few seasons ago when dementia & mobility issues made this too difficult.
Tom was a very sociable character. For many years he was a well-kent face around Dunfermline with many friends & associates through his activities with the Jubilee Club, the Royal British Legion & Dunfermline Athletic. He will be sorely missed.
