Dunfermline Athletic are very sad to learn of the death of former player Jim Fleming at the age of 78. Jim who was born in Alloa played for the Pars between February 1965 and March 1967.
Jim started his football career at Partick Thistle back in 1958. His Thistle experience was interrupted by two years at Luton Town where he made 66 appearances before Willie Cunningham signed him from Partick by Dunfermline.
Jim scored on his debut in the Pars 2-2 draw at Pittodrie on 27 February 1965 and played in eight of the club’s European games - against Boldklub 1903 Copenhagen, Spartak Brno, Real Zaragoza, FC Frigg and Dinamo Zagreb - while at East End Park, scoring four goals including two away from home in Oslo.

Jim went from Dunfermline to Hearts in March 1967 in a player swap for Don Kerrigan. His career then took him to Wigan Athletic, Ross County and finally at Inverness Clachnacuddin where he was player / manager.
