Fraser Murray signs for Pars
Friday, 25th Sep 2020A season long deal for Hibs midfielder is agreed.
Fraser Murray grew up in Baillieston, started playing football at local boys club, East End Thistle before being picked up by Hibs as an eight year old. Assisted by coaches including Grant Murray and Eddie May, he rose through the Academy ranks, making his competitive debut in the club`s Irn Bru Cup tie with Turriff United in 2016.
The midfielder scored the opening goal in the cup tie in Aberdeenshire and looked a threat throughout. He went on to make further appearances towards the end of the 2016-17 season, winning the man-of-the-match award in a 3-2 home success against Raith Rovers.
A successful pre-season in 2017 saw Fraser become a permanent fixture in the first team squad, and the midfielder scored twice in the Betfred Cup group stages. In all he has scored four goals in 29 appearances for Hibs but 23 of those were as a sub.
Fraser is delighted to be joining Dunfermline and said:-
“You want to come to a team and do well, play as much as you can but help the team get three points and get promoted to the Premier League. You have to aim high when you come on loan to a team.“
