Manager Post Spartans
Tuesday, 22nd Sep 202022/09/20: SC - “We were really happy with the way the boys applied themselves and the fitness that they will have taken out of the game
Manager Stevie Crawford was pleased with the work out provided by the second per season friendly played against Spartans on Tuesday night. He told the website:-
“In the main boys that started got a hour tonight. We will take that into consideration going into the East Fife game on Saturday. We were a wee bit rusty in the final third in the first half but I thought the boys application and attitude from the start of the game right to the end was very good.
“We really enjoyed the first half, in all fairness with the chances we created we could have scored five or six goals in the first half. We are two games into our pre season and I am sure those finishing touches will come.
“We were really happy with the way the boys applied themselves and the fitness that they will have taken out of the game. Spartans were on the back of playing Hearts at the weekend so it was great coming here tonight with them trying to play football in the right way as well. They played some really good phases of play.
“There were a lot of positives tonight, obviously Kerr (McInroy) only joined the club today and he has managed to get off the mark right away, scoring a couple of fantastic goals.
“The coaching staff now just need to speak to Gary (McColl) and Jamie (Sutton) to make sure that we are getting the right minutes into the boys legs for the rest of the pre season games. Euan Murray and Lewis McCann had both picked up a couple of knocks but it was good that they managed to get thirty minutes.”
