Manager post Stenhousemuir
Saturday, 19th Sep 202019/09/20: SC - “There were some familiar faces that didn’t take part today but hopefully they will get the chance against Spartans on Tuesday or next weekend against East Fife

“It was great to see the boys playing a full size 11 v 11 game. Stupid as it sounds that is the first time that we have been allowed to play 11 v 11 competitive game or bounce games amongst ourselves with the restrictions that we have had.
We have to be mindful of it. You could see at the start of the first half it took us a little while to get going and similarly at the start of the second half. It wasn’t the application from the boys, it is only natural that they are going to have to find their feet again that way.
“The main thing today was trying to get everybody 45 minutes which we have managed to do. I’m sure that there will be a few aches bumps and bruises but that is the norm and we will see where we are at come Monday again on the injury front. I don’t think that we have picked up anything too worrying today.”
Nineteen players got game time against Stenhousemuir but Stevie stressed the important thing was game time.
“We felt that it was important to give the boys that we felt were ready from the training to get 45 minutes. There is no point in taking chances with anybody if there are any wee aches and pains or strains. It is important that we don’t force them into it and cause them to miss longer periods.
“There were some familiar faces that didn’t take part today but hopefully they will get the chance against Spartans on Tuesday or next weekend against East Fife to get some game time in.”
