Manager’s open minded approach

With his squad now back in training in preparation for a competitive kick off on 6th October, Stevie Crawford has suggested that his squad is maybe not complete. He told this website:-
“We will still look to add but we did a lot of our work and brought in players quite early in the summer. We have had to try and give ourselves the best possible opportunity to get back to training in a safe, secure environment.
“Alloa have been great and this partnership between the clubs with Ross and Mike. They have been working hard to make sure that both clubs can get back to a secure training facility.
“We do not take our eye off the ball in terms of adding to and strengthening the squad but there is nothing more happening as of yet on that front.”
With no formal reserve fixtures Stevie admitted that he will be in no rush to loan out some of his younger players.
“We will look and see where boys are at. I have said it before that I think that part of a player’s development is them actually going out and getting game time. If we feel that any player needs to go out on loan, it will be something that we will look into as well. At this stage though we do not have any individual in mind but it is not something that I am ruling out.
“When you look at some of the Premiership teams there are already a few young boys breaking through in the teams in Scotland. You just don’t know, sometimes younger players surprise you, some need more time than others so I don’t want to rule any of them out in pre season before they can catch the eye. If we think that is right and they can go out and get game time at senior level then it is something that we will look into.”
