Betfred Cup Draw
Monday, 10th Aug 2020Pars to face Kilmarnock, Clyde, Dumbarton and Falkirk in the Betfred Cup.
The draw for the group stage of the 2020/2021 Betfred Cup took place on Monday 10th August.
The format remains the same as in previous years, with 40 clubs drawn into eight groups of five on a regionalised basis. The draw was as follows:-
Group stage games are scheduled for October 6, 10 & 13, and November 10 & 14, subject to live TV selections.
The eight group winners and four best runners-up will join Celtic, Rangers, Motherwell and Aberdeen in the last 16 on the weekend of November 28/29.
Dunfermline last met Kilmarnock in May 2012 and this will be the first League Cup meeting since September 2005 when a 4-3 win assisted Jim Leishman`s side`s route to that season`s final.
Clyde have not been opponents since the League Cup tie back in August 2010, a match the Pars won 3-2.
Dumbarton last played Dunfermline in April 2018, the Fifers winning 4-0 and the last League Cup meeting was a 5-0 victory at Dumbarton in August 2009.
As always Falkirk will be welcome opponents, this the first competitive match between the rivals since April 2019 and the first League Cup meeting since August 2013.
