DAFC Centenary Club Lifeline Update - 03 August 2020
It has been a very strange few months for all of us and probably the most bizarre close season we have ever seen. Thankfully, as a result of all our efforts, throughout the whole country, we are starting to see life start to move on to something that appears to be the “new normal”.
With the new Premiership season having started it makes us all look forward eagerly to October when we will get to see our beloved Pars get back in action on the pitch.
The support we have had from Lifeline members in recent months continues to impress. We have just reached the end of our financial year with 937 members, which has allowed us to make a further top up payment of £10,000 to the football club, that brings our total contributions for the year to £187,800, which is just incredible.
The Lifeline committee can’t thank all our members enough for sticking with the club during these most precarious of times. Stephen Taylor, the Lifeline Vice Chairman/Treasurer, noted “The way our fans have responded during this difficult time has been amazing especially when many people have had their own struggles during the lockdown.
“The Lifeline contribution to the football club is a genuine “lifeline” which many comparable clubs do not have. We know that the Pars are not out of the woods yet as we wait to hear if crowds will be allowed back by October . We know that closed door games will not be financially viable for any prolonged period. That makes the Lifeline a crucial part of the club’s ongoing funding. We are all so very grateful to our members.”
The total contributions to DAFC since the Lifeline was relaunched in 2013 now stands at over £1.3 million.
