Wednesday, 15th Jul 2020West Fife Support for the Vulnerable and our local paramedic team supported by DAFC
Following a request from Pars fan Kenny McLachlan, DAFC were only too happy to donate a collection of soft drinks from the various bars at East End Park to local organisation West Fife Support for the Vulnerable.
The group was set up to assist vulnerable people in our local area through providing food parcels and clothing bags, donated by local businesses and individuals. From a small beginning, they have rapidly expanded and now support hundreds of West Fife families.
Kenny also arranged for two bottles of ‘Lockdown’ whisky, donated back to him by generous Pars fans following the hugely successful initiative on dafc.net, to be re-auctioned with the proceeds of one bottle going towards West Fife Support for the Vulnerable and the other going to a local paramedic team. With the addition of some other generous donations, this means £190 will be going to the support group and £140 to the paramedics.
Sarah Keeble from the West Fife support group commented “Our volunteers are running round in their own vehicles using their own fuel to deliver parcels and this fabulous donation will go a long way to help with fuel expenses and provisions for the bags”.
It was felt that our paramedic teams can sometimes go under the radar when it comes to recognising our key workers and paramedic Billy De Swarte was thrilled to know that his team had been considered. Billy ensured us the donation would be put to good use and couldn’t thank us enough.
