Comrie contract extended
Monday, 15th Jun 2020Full back Aaron Comrie has secured an extension to his contract at Dunfermline Athletic
Aaron Comrie started 34 of the Pars 35 games last season and that has secured an extension to his contract at Dunfermline. Manager Stevie Crawford explained:-
“Aaron had a trigger in his contract whereby he had reached the point where he had played the number of games to give him a further years extension. I think Aaron was one of the successes of last season.”
The 23 year old from Glenrothes, joined Dunfermline from St Johnstone in May 2019 having made 16 appearances for the Perth club’s first team. Stevie praised Aaron’s achievement as his most selected player last season:-
“For a guy who hadn’t played regular football, and that’s nothing against St Johnstone because they are a very efficiently run the football club and in the main have finished top six for a number of years now, Aaron was always going to find it very difficult.
“He has thoroughly enjoyed his football and when I look back on the disappointment of the league finishing when it did, these boys that we brought in haven’t had the chance to experience a full season.
“That is hard because it is not just eight games of football, it is it games of football when you are getting towards the time of the season when there are pressures, are we going to make a run to get into the play offs? Are we going to get dragged down nearer the bottom of the league? Are the legs going to be able to handle playing the full season?
“These challenges that have been taken away through no fault of our own. It is what it is and that is something that we will look to build on next year.”
