Sportsman`s Dinner 2020

Annual Dinner brings in fantastic total at the Garvock House Hotel

Dunfermline Athletic are delighted to announce over £10,000 was raised at Saturday night`s 1885 Business Club Sportsman’s Dinner held at the Garvock House Hotel in Dunfermline.

The evening was hosted by Jim Leishman who was joined by our special guests European Tour Golfer and Ryder Cup winner Stephen Gallacher. BBC Sport Scotland`s Brian McLaughlin and after dinner speaker & former footballer John Gahagan.

BBC Scotland`s Brian Mclaughlin held a Q+A with Stephen Gallacher on his successful career, including a famous Ryder Cup win, multiple European Tour successes and the work he now carries out inspiring a new generation of golfers with his own foundation.

Stephen then went on to surprise everyone on the night by donating his appearance fee back to Dunfermline Athletic`s youth set up.

Following a very successful auction and raffle the room was treated to a tremendous stand up routine from former footballer John Gahagan, who had the room in stitches.

Vice-Chairman, Billy Braisby summed up the night saying: “I`d like to thank everyone who came along to our Sportsman`s Dinner. Once again our fantastic supporters and sponsors really dug deep and we can`t thank them enough! Likewise we must recognise Stephen Gallacher`s wonderful gesture donating his fee back to the club. Stephen, John, Brian and Jim were all terrific hosts and speakers for the night`s entertainment.

Finally we`d like to thank the 1885 Business Club for the work they put in to pull this event together and the team at the Garvock House Hotel for their hospitality and service throughout the evening”
