Dylan Duncan keen to make points at Dunfermline
Friday, 31st Jan 2020Dunfermline were delighted to sign 21 year old midfielder, Dylan Duncan on loan for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
Dylan Duncan joined Queens Park Rangers in the summer, following his departure from Tottenham Hotspur, and he has spent the first half of this season with their U23s squad. Dylan admitted that it was a really exciting move for him.
“I am really excited to get going. The gaffer wanted me in last week to have a look at me because he had seen a few videos. I came and showed what I can do and now I can’t wait for the rest of the season.
“I was at Tottenham for about five years, I had a really good experience there and in the summer I moved on to QPR. That has been really good for me, I have got a lot of games and experience there in the last six months.”
Dylan feels that it is time to take his game to another level, come to Dunfermline, help the team out, help himself out and and show what he can do.
“My experience so far has all been at 23s or academy level. Now I want to go on to show what I can really do on a first team platform. I know that I have ability and that will shine through now.”
For the Londoner who has never ventured further than Southend in his footballing career so far coming to Scotland also excites:-
“When the idea was first put forward to me I was really excited about it. Then when I came in and saw the lads training, the culture at the club just set my mind to try and get involved in it. I am really happy that the gaffer has taken me now.”
This season Dylan has captained Paul Hall’s under 23 side but he now hopes to play men’s football in Scotland:-
“There is a lot on the line every single game. It is a good jump forward and a good step for me.”
His observations of Scottish football so far are limited Friday night’s game against Dundee which he watched from the stand:-
“Before that game there had been a few losses so it was really good to get that win. I really enjoyed watching the game. They are a really talented bunch of players, I can see why they dominated that game.
“In training the mood has been good, fiery and everyone is on it. There are more good things to come from here.”
The new signing is very aware that Dunfermline already have several options in midfield, he commented:-
“We had a chat about it and I told him that I was ready to play. I know what I can do, what I can bring to the team. I just have to wait for my opportunity and go and prove myself now.
“I am a box to box midfielder, I can get back and defend and I have a goal in me as well. I will work hard for the team, I am a good passer of the ball and all rounder. The most important thing is that I here to get the team points.”
