Matty Bowman loaned south

The club have agreed that nineteen year old Matty Bowman will go out on loan to Pickering Town until the end of this season. After completing his two bursary years at the famous Repton School, Matty signed a two year deal at Dunfermline in May 2019.
Stevie Crawford commented:-
“Matty is his first year of full time football, he probably found that there are ups and downs. In the reserves he has found some games difficult but others he has done well in.
“For Matty to go out and get games and play in men’s football at first team level hopefully gives him that challenge. Reserve football should be challenging, we shouldn’t be taking games like that for granted but I just think for him to get challenged to go down south and play week in week out with someone, Steve Roberts, who he has worked with before will put a spring back in his step.
“We are not just putting him out anywhere. We are uniting him with a coach that Matty knows from before, that is important. It is a good level and we feel that he will go there and start enjoying his football. Sometimes the demands that we put on players, dealing with being away from home show that it is the tough industry that we are in.
“Hopefully Matty will benefit, come back in the summer and kick on during the pre season.”
Matty hails from Scarborough so he will be closer to home during his loan at Pickering. The Pikes play in the Northern Premier League Division One North West.
