Dunfermline Athletic players take up Christmas crafts at Rachel House

Ryan Dow, Greg Kiltie, Joe Thomson, Harry Cochrane and Josh Edwards were joined by Kitman Mo Hutton, assistant Sammi Connell and Pars Foundation General Manager Kelly Armstrong.

Dunfermline Athletic players, staff and members of the Pars Foundation were delighted to visit CHAS`s Rachel House in Kinross on Thursday (13th December) to share some time with the children ahead of Christmas.

Ryan Dow, Greg Kiltie, Joe Thomson, Harry Cochrane and Josh Edwards were joined by Kitman Mo Hutton, assistant Sammi Connell and Pars Foundation General Manager Kelly Armstrong.
The group joined in with some Christmas card crafts before handing out goody bags while spending time with the children and staff.

On behalf of the squad, who had all donated, Joe Thomson was delighted to hand over a cheque to the staff. The afternoon was rounded off with a tour of Rachel House, finding out about all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes that is required to make the operation happen.

Alison Blair, Activities Coordinator at Rachel House, said: “It was lovely to have the Dunfermline Athletic players in for a festive visit, to enjoy a Christmas card making session with some of the children and get to know more about Rachel House. A huge thanks to them for the generous donation and goodies. We hope to have them back for a kick about next spring. Long may their winning streak continue!”

In Scotland, nearly 16,000 children and young people live with life-shortening conditions and CHAS is determined to reach every family who needs its services. CHAS works across Scotland, able to provides its hospice services nation-wide for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. CHAS offers palliative, respite and end-of-life care from Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch.

The CHAS at Home service supports families with the services of a hospice yet in their own homes across the whole of Scotland. Through its Diana Children’s Nurses working in hospitals across the country they can support families and clinical teams.

CHAS is appealing for donations in the run up to and including the festive season to help all children with life shortening illnesses and their families to create special Christmas memories that will last a lifetime. Find out how you can help here: https://www.chas.org.uk/christmas-appeal
