“To go 1-0 up in the game and they are down to ten men can make it difficult at times but I thought it was a really clinical performance in the first half “claimed Stevie Crawford.

“I think the disappointment of last week was there for everybody to see in terms of the performance and credit to the boys for giving a reaction like that.”

With four of the five goals coming from striker Kevin Nisbet, his manager was delighted with him:-

“We spoke about trying to get Partick in wider areas. Greg won the ball high, came inside and wins the penalty for us. He was maybe just about to shoot at goal but Kevin’s third goal was a really pleasing one. I have looked back at it there, there is technique in it, it is the outside of the foot even his posture and style when he strikes the ball.

“It is great for him. He scored a lot of goals in the league below last season and he is now starting to get a very good goal return in the league above.

“Credit to Kevin because he is maturing, last week there was disappointment and players get to a certain age where they have to take responsibility as well. It showed during the week that it mattered to him.

“As a staff, as a club we have looked after players that we have brought in and signed. In his performance today he wanted to give something back, as did all the boys.”

Lewis Martin’s goal, the Pars second in the match was the 23 year Old’s first since January 2015. SC commented:-

“He actually had a chance in the second half as well that he put over the bar. Different today for Lewis, we decided we would put him back to left back where we started him at the beginning of the season.

“I thought he was really effective, in the first half especially when Partick went in a 4-3-2 formation. They were narrow in the midfield and Lewis played a big part in getting on the ball in wider areas or helping us get the ball out wide. To top it off he scores a goal which he will not do every week but I am very pleased for Lewis today.”

Was it as enjoyable a ninety minutes as you have had here?

“You ask the boys on the bench that. After last week it was great to get a reaction. We will move on from last week, it is in black and white now. We have got to remember those healings and as I say the reaction from the boys was different class today.”

The manager agreed that the undersoil hearing played a big part in enabling the match to be played and Dunfermline extend their good home form - now four wins out of four.

“It is a big week for us. If you are looking for everything to be rosy you are maybe hoping that you can go and kick on in the latter parts of the game today but I thought we were very professional.

“Partick at half time decided to go with two banks of four and one upfront. We didn’t try to force it in terms of using up all our energy. Hopefully we will benefit from that in the Ayr United and Morton games.”
