Cammy Graham on track

One of the Under 20s newest recruits makes daily round trip from North Berwick

Cammy Graham signed a one year deal in July and the attacking midfielder is thoroughly enjoying life at Dunfermline. Such is the young player’s enthusiasm his journey to training involves him with travelling by rail from North Berwick with a change at Edinburgh Waverley to be on the 8.15am to Dunfermline. Coupled with the return journey that is well worth it said the seventeen year old:-

“I am loving it, just coming in everyday, playing football. I have only known the boys for a month but it feels like longer.”

The left footed player who likes playing in behind the striker impressed in a bounce game in Edinburgh and following that he was invited in for a trial at Dunfermline.

Good on the technical side of the game, he has an impressive first touch and is a proficient finisher. He has shown in the reserve games that he has played since arriving that he gives his all during games, his work rate is high and he always comes off exhausted.

Cammy attended Broughton High School for S1 to S3 before returning to his local high school in North Berwick.

He started his football at Aberlady Boys Club and was at Bonnyrigg Rose from age of seven until picked up by Hearts two years later. Cammy was at Hearts until he was 16 and moved to Dunfermline via six months at St Johnstone.

The move to Dunfermline reunited Cammy with Lucas Berry who he played with at Hearts for seven years. He knew Liam Newton and a few of the Fife Elite boys from his time at Broughton. Cammy told the website:-

“Training has been really good, some sessions have been really hard. There have been a lot of games and that suits because I am a competitive person.

“Coaching has been more one to one than at my other clubs where they talked to the group instead of direct to me. I know what I need to do and I know what Shieldsy wants me to improve on.

“It has been good for me. I have never been so close to a coach, it is like he has me under his arm. The older players like Ashy and Paul Paton help you a lot, they praise you. If you are not doing it though, they are on your back.

“Everyone has been amazing and have never finished training and walked off saying that I did not enjoy that.

“All the boys of my age get on because we want the best for each other and we want the training to be of a good standard.”

As far as this season is concerned, Cammy would settle for a regular place in the reserves and to make an impression on Greg Shields.
