Dunfermline are drawn away to holders Celtic
Second round to be played 17/18 August 2019

Dunfermline will meet Celtic in the League Cup for the first time since they met in the 2005-2006 League Cup Final. It will also mean the first trip to Celtic Park since February 2012.

The eight group winners and four best runners-up progress to the second round, where they were joined by the four clubs competing in Europe - Celtic, Rangers, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.
The seeded teams in the last 16 were the four European clubs and the four group winners with the best records.

The draw was made by Chris Sutton and Michael Stewart at Kilmac Dens Park after the final first round match and is as follows:-

Hibernian v Morton
Partick Thistle v Ross County
Motherwell v Hearts
Dundee v Aberdeen
Celtic v DUNFERMLINE
Forfar Athletic v Livingston
Kilmarnock v Hamilton
East Fife v Rangers

The tournament reverts to a traditional knock-out format from the second round onwards, with ties decided by extra time and penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes.
