- - Listen to the post match comments from Stevie Crawford

Stevie Crawford expressed his disappointment in losing to Edinburgh City after two positive results over St Mirren and Albion Rovers.

”We weren`t great in the first half, there wasn`t much in the game and we certainly didn`t create enough chances. A wee big of that was the boys adapting to the surface.

”Better in the second half and to be honest I didn`t see us losing the game. We have had three or four good opportunities in the second half. Big Lewis hit the bar, Kyle was unlucky with one where the keeper made a good save. Possibly a penalty claim when Tom (Beadling) miss hit a shot.

”We limited them to chances but we need to dust ourselves down and we will have to get on with it next week against East Kilbride now.”

A different challenge for the new look squad to bounce back after two positive results?

”I think today St Mirren has lost today on penalties through at East Kilbride so these are difficult fixtures. That is not to say we accept losing them and all credit to Edinburgh City. We had heard reports in their game through the week, they sat in and were very compact. They made it difficult and we did not get to play any of our through passes in the first half and were frustrated.

”We addressed that at half time and tried to get Josh Coley and Ryan Dow on the ball in higher areas and wider on the park. The challenge now is to see how we respond to a defeat.”

How was Andy Ryan after his 53rd minute injury?

”Unfortunately there was a head collision and he was knocked out so the rules state that you must replace him. It is a bit early to see where he is at but he was able to sit on the bench and watch the rest of the game.”

Always disappointing to lose goals but you must feel that was a rather unlucky one?

”We are extremely disappointed at losing the game but I gave just watched the goal back there, Ashy comes out gets a block on it and it falls at the boy’s feet. To be fair the boy Handling has finished it well with the outside if his foot as Scully came out. If it had landed anywhere else it provably wouldn`t have ended up a goal.

”The disappointment with today’s performance is that we did not create enough in the first half. We had no divine right to come to Edinburgh City and say that we would just come here and win the fame of football. That would be totally disrespectful to Edinburgh City.

”We knew that they had made it very difficult for St Mirren during the week. We knew that it was going to be a tough one. I can`t be too critical of the boys, they have worked hard and that`s three games in the last six days.

”The majority have played most of those minutes and other than the disappointment we are still in a really strong position to qualify from the group.”
