Dunfermline Athletic Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Jason Dair as first team coach, as part of Stevie Crawford’s staff, in time for pre season training starting today.
Jason was previously Stevie’s Assistant at East Fife and played with both Stevie and Greg Shields during a successful playing career at East End Park. Jason was recently manager at Dundonald Bluebell.
Jason has already shown great commitment to the cause, as he had a very good job out with football, so we welcome Jason back to East End Park!
The move not only reunites Jason with the club but also with his former team mate Stevie Crawford.
The pair won the Coca-Cola Cup with Raith Rovers in 1994 and also went on to play together at Millwall and Dunfermline.
Jason was born in Dunfermline but began his football career at Raith Rovers. He was a title winner at Raith in season 1992-93 when they won the First Division and was a member of the Rovers side that defeated Celtic to win the League Cup in 1994 and in doing so qualified to play in the UEFA Cup.
Dair scored Raith`s first ever European goal, netting from close range against Gi Gota from the Faroe Islands before going out 4–1 on aggregrate to Bayern Munich.
In addition to his four years during which he made 145 appearances at Dunfermline, Jason went on to play for Livingston and East Fife. It was at East Fife where he had his first coaching role replacing Scott Crabbe as assistant manager prior to the 2010/11 season.
Other coaching experience has come from spells at Oakley United, Cowdenbeath and Dundonald Bluebell.
