Kevin Nisbet signs for Dunfermline
Thursday, 13th Jun 2019Pars sign Scottish League One’s 2018-2019 top goalscorer.
Dunfermline Athletic Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of striker, Kevin Nisbet on a 2 year contract today following the termination of his contract with Raith Rovers.
We are delighted that he sees the next stage in his development being at East End Park, working with a former Scottish international striker, in Stevie Crawford.
The skilful striker started his career in Patrick’s Thistle Weir Academy, had successful on loan spells with East Stirling, Ayr United and Dumbarton and also made 15 appearances for Partick Thistle.
Kevin played against Dunfermline in the pre season friendly at Starks Park on 4th July last year. He was listed as Trialist no.15 but he made an impact winning the penalty that ultimately separated the sides.
Twenty two year old Kevin moves from Raith Rovers where he made 46 appearances and scored 34 goals last season.
Manager Stevie Crawford said that he was delighted with his latest signing:-
“We are delighted. We are lucky that we are going to the club that benefits from the termination of Kevin’s contract at Raith Rovers. I know that he has scored a number of goals in a league below but it was something that we needed to address.
“He is at an age where he is keen and hopefully his best years are ahead of him. The coaching staff here are looking forward to working with him and I know Ross McArthur has worked hard behind the scenes to make sure that this transfer goes through.
“Hopefully it is an exciting signing, the boost that the club needs and Kevin can help our goalscoring abilities for the season ahead.”
