Jackson Longridge
Thursday, 13th Jun 2019Jackson Longridge has left Dunfermline Athletic to join Bradford City.
DAFC would like to announce that we have agreed terms with Bradford City for the transfer of Jackson Longridge, with the international transfer window re-opening.
A number of EFL clubs have made offers for Jackson in recent weeks.
Everyone at East End Park is naturally disappointed to see the popular defender leave, but he goes with our very best wishes, deserving of his opportunity to ply his trade south of the border. We hope Jackson can have a very successful career in England, after a mutual compensation arrangement had been agreed by both clubs.
Jackson was almost ever present for Dunfermline in his one season at East End Park. He scored five goals in his 41 appearances for Dunfermline and only one of those was as substitute.
Everyone at Dunfermline Athletic would like to wish Jackson well at his new club and Stevie Crawford commented:-
“Jackson had a consistent season last year and he has attracted quite a bit of attention in the close season. We felt that we could not stand in his way to join a club the size of Bradford. It could kick start his career by giving him the opportunity to go down and play in England.
“We wish Jackson all the best and now there is an opportunity for other players at the club. Lewis Martin has played that position for us for a number of years and it might be that is the opportunity now that allows Lewis to kick on and become a regular in the team.”
